Mission Statement

To turn a skater's dream into reality by creating a design that completes the total package of talent, music and image.   Using only the top of the line lycras, velvets, knits, chiffons and silks,  along with quality dyes,  Swarovski crystals, sequins, beads, and appliques to complete designs,  World Figure Skate Wear produces only award winning, custom made garments for each client.

Bio:

Fascinated by design and construction of clothing even as a child Sheila developed the skills that have enabled her in a career  that she loves. Drawn by the artistic freedom of skating costumes she pours creative passion into giving each client  a special dress.  After many years of working directly with skaters she understands the needs and wants involved with the sport.  

Sheila,  known as  Shei to friends,  now lives on Vancouver Island, in Canada, surrounded by mountains and  beaches, the perfect environment for inspiration.   Through the luxury of the Internet Shei designs for clients around the globe. 

   To create the ideal dress Shei starts by communicating with the client to understand what their needs are.  After listening  to the music, sketches are sent to the skater for input or approval.  Fabric and color choices are discussed and if time allows swatches can be sent.   Shei takes into account a skaters personality, body style and program in order to achieve a look that will stand out, be one of a kind and one the judges will remember.  Her biggest reward is the happy comments that are sent when the finished product is received.  Shei's goal is to provide each client with a dress that will make them feel special and confident.  Shei derives great pleasure in knowing she has played a small part in the lives of her clients.
